It was the day after the Winnipeg Goldeyes retired Max Poulin’s jersey and honored him at Shaw Park that officials announced the key to the city was being given to Gene Simmons.
Max read to kids in local schools and volunteered in between being a role model for kids on and off the field.
The other guy screwed a bunch of women and earned a fortune making very -very- poor rock music.
Stay classy, Winnipeg.
Here here!
They can’t give the key to the city to Max Poulin, because:
The Mayor controls the award of civic honors;
He’s not going to give up that control;
The Mayor controls the Goldeyes;
He’s not going to give up that control;
Therefore, awarding a key to the city to Max Poulin would place him in a conflict of interest that would remind voters of his other conflicts.
So Max will just have to wait.
It’s one ‘conflict’ we all could have lived with in this case, methinks.
Just seemed like a no-brainer to me.
Gotta go. Pancake House is now following me on Twitter.
